Montreal Massage Therapist: Stress and Massage
Is massage therapy what you need?
Maybe you have already experienced therapeutic massage, relaxation, or chair massage, but did you know the many health benefits that deep tissue massage can provide? While many massages are designed for relaxation and relieving anxiety, therapeutic deep tissue massages focus on providing superior health benefits. More specifically, by increasing the pressure applied to the muscles, blood flow increases throughout the body, boosting the oxygen supplied to all of the tissues and aiding in the recovery and regeneration of cells. With more oxygen circulating in the blood, toxins such as lactic acid are removed from your muscles at a higher rate. In addition, the massage can increase the mobility of certain muscles and also loosen up tight muscles. So whether you are someone with a busy work life, constant traveling, or lots of stress in your life, a monthly or even bi-monthly deep tissue massage can do wonders for your long-term health, relaxation, and mood!

Westmount Psychologist: Stress Management
The prevalence of anxiety and stress related to work and financial pressures are increasing. Work is becoming more about just a “job” and not so much about doing what we like, what contributes to a sense of satisfaction and intellectual / professional growth. The rapidly changing society is also playing its share in the increase of anxiety and burnout among population, at least in North American. Our fast speeding society promotes the competitiveness and pressure, and as such burn out, anxiety and unmanageable stress (at least perceived as such) are leading to relationship difficulties and impaired mental, social, and academic functioning. Thus, why we decided to introduce a brief series on stress management, which can be viewed on the upcoming series of this topic as prepared by Dr. Bita.
